Reports
Norwegian-language report - On 20 May 2025, the expert report Nuclear Power in Norway – Costs, Challenges and Opportunities was launched. The report was written by Vala Maria Valsdottir, a PhD candidate at the University of Oslo.
The report addresses several key topics, including: “Why is nuclear power expensive today – and what can we learn from previous projects?”, “What are the main cost drivers in the construction of nuclear power plants?”, and “What role can Norway play in the future development of nuclear power?”
A new report assesses the leakage of radioactivity from the Russian nuclear submarine Komsomolets, which sank 35 years ago. The measurements show that radioactivity levels in sediments in the immediate vicinity of the submarine remain as low as in previous years, and that the leakage has not had any significant consequences for the surrounding area or the Norwegian Sea.
